Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Psychic Standards ("the Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service constitutes ongoing acceptance of these Terms.

2. Nature of the Service — Please Read Carefully

Psychic Standards is a digital entertainment service. All readings and guidance are generated by digital readers — automated systems powered by artificial intelligence (AI). By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Our digital readers (including but not limited to Gillian, Monica, and Shira) are AI-generated personas, not real people. They do not possess psychic, supernatural, or clairvoyant abilities.
• All readings, guidance, and responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided solely for entertainment purposes.
• Readings are not factual, predictive, or reliable. They should not be treated as truth or used as the basis for any decision.
• The Service is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to medical, psychological, financial, legal, or relationship counselling.
• Responses may vary between sessions, between readers, and over time. This is a normal characteristic of AI-generated content and does not indicate error or defect.
• You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on content generated by the Service.

If you do not accept that this is an AI-powered entertainment service, you must stop using it immediately.

3. Account Registration

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
• You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You may only create one account. Creating multiple accounts is strictly prohibited. If we determine that you have created multiple accounts, we reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate all associated accounts, forfeit any credits (free or purchased) across all accounts, and decline any refund requests relating to those accounts.
• You may not share your account credentials with any other person or allow anyone else to access your account.

4. Credits and Payments

• The Service operates on a credit system. Each message sent to a reader costs credits.
• New accounts may receive complimentary credits upon registration. The amount of free credits may change at any time without notice.
• Additional credits can be purchased via Stripe. All prices are displayed in your local currency where supported, with base pricing in GBP.
• Promotional offers, including first-purchase bonuses, may be available from time to time. These are limited to one per person, not per account. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional promotional credits is a violation of these Terms.
• All credit purchases are final. Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that credits are digital goods delivered immediately and you waive any right to a cooling-off period to the extent permitted by applicable law.
• We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Existing purchased credits will not be affected by price changes.
• Credits do not expire while your account remains active and in good standing. If your account is terminated, suspended, or deleted for any reason, any remaining credits are forfeited.

5. Refunds and Chargebacks

Because credits are digital goods delivered immediately upon purchase, refunds are generally not available. If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact us within 14 days at hello@psychicstandards.com and we will review your case.

Under UK consumer law, you have the right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. However, by using credits after purchase, you consent to immediate delivery of the digital content and acknowledge that your right to cancel is lost once credits have been used.

You agree to contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment provider. We are committed to resolving billing issues fairly and promptly. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate suspension of your account and forfeiture of all credits.

Refunds will not be issued on the basis that you were dissatisfied with AI-generated content, or on the grounds that you did not understand the nature of the Service as described in Section 2 of these Terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Create multiple accounts for any reason, including to obtain additional free credits, test the Service, or circumvent account restrictions.
• Attempt to manipulate, hack, reverse-engineer, or exploit the Service, including attempting to bypass rate limits, extract underlying AI prompts, or interfere with the operation of the Service.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate our staff, support team, or other users through the Service or related communications.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

7. Confidentiality and Content Sharing

Your conversations with our digital readers are private to your account. We do not share your messages with other users.

All content generated by our digital readers (including reading text, guidance, and responses) is owned by Psychic Standards and is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not:

• Reproduce, publish, or distribute AI-generated reading content for commercial purposes.
• Present AI-generated reading content as having been created by a real person, as genuine psychic or spiritual guidance, or as factual information.
• Use reading content to mislead, deceive, or cause harm to any person.

You retain ownership of the messages you send. By using the Service, you grant us a licence to process your messages as necessary to provide the Service.

8. Crisis Intervention

The Service includes an automated safety system. If our system detects messages indicating severe distress or risk of self-harm, your account may be temporarily locked and you will be shown crisis support resources and helpline numbers. This is an automated safety measure and does not constitute professional mental health support, counselling, or therapy. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline directly. The Service is not designed or intended to provide support for mental health emergencies.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, branding, reader personas, and AI-generated outputs of Psychic Standards are owned by or licensed to us. No rights are granted to you other than the limited licence to use the Service for personal entertainment as described in these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content generated will be accurate, complete, reliable, or suitable for any purpose. AI-generated content may contain errors, inconsistencies, or fabricated information.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Psychic Standards, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or emotional distress, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You acknowledge that the Service provides AI-generated entertainment content and that you use it at your own risk. We are not liable for any actions you take, or fail to take, based on content generated by the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Psychic Standards, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (d) any claim that your use of the Service caused harm to a third party.

13. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute regarding the Service, you agree to first contact us at hello@psychicstandards.com and allow us a reasonable period of at least 30 days to resolve the matter before taking any further action, including filing complaints with regulatory authorities or initiating legal proceedings.

We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and in good faith.

14. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to:

• Creating or operating multiple accounts.
• Abusing the refund process or filing unjustified chargebacks.
• Threatening, abusive, or harassing behaviour towards staff or other users.
• Any violation of the Acceptable Use policy in Section 6.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination or deletion, any remaining credits are forfeited and no refund will be issued for unused credits.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes by email where possible.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law.
