An Aries in love, and why it rarely looks the way you expected

An Aries in love pursues. That is the answer, and everything else on this page is detail underneath it. He initiates, he decides, he arrives, and he tends to say the enormous thing months before it is reasonable to say it. Whether that reads to you as romantic or as slightly alarming depends mostly on what you are used to, and both reactions are common.

The tell is who moves first

Aries is cardinal fire. Cardinal means the sign that starts, the one already halfway across the room while everybody else is deciding whether to. Fire means the wanting arrives before any of the working out does.

Which makes love, for this sign, something closer to an activity than a state. He is not sitting at home privately developing feelings and waiting for a safe moment. He noticed, he decided, and now you have a man outside your flat at ten past seven who has already booked something.

Take the initiating away and there is very little left to read. This is the sign where what he does and what he feels are the same object.

Directness is the entire love language

He will miss every hint you ever drop. Every one. Not out of thickness, and not to annoy you. Hints require somebody to be reading between lines, and there is nothing between the lines with an Aries because he put it all on them.

So he says it early, plainly and often at the wrong moment. He would rather be wrong out loud than correct in silence, which is a genuinely rare quality in a man and does not feel rare when he says something enormous over a Wednesday takeaway.

The flip side arrives with it. He will also say the blunt thing about your hair, your job and your friend, and be baffled that it landed. The bluntness and the declaration come out of the same tap and you do not get to fit a filter to one of them.

Why it gets misread as a technique

Fast, warm, decisive and all in within a fortnight looks identical from outside to something being run on purpose, and plenty of the women who ask us about an Aries have already been told by a friend that this is a strategy.

The difference is that a strategy needs somebody holding a plan, watching how it lands, pacing the reveals. Of the twelve signs this is the least plausible candidate for any of it. He is quick because quick is the only speed installed, and the sincerity is the speed rather than a layer on top of it.

Five possible Venus signs, and why they matter more than the sun

Here is the useful thing almost nobody knows. Venus never travels far from the sun, so it cannot land just anywhere. An Aries sun can only have Venus in Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus or Gemini. The other seven are impossible.

And Venus is the placement that actually answers how he loves.

Venus in Aquarius keeps a little air around it and starts as friendship. Venus in Pisces declares fast, goes tender, and turns vague under pressure. Venus in Aries says it first, means it now, and finds waiting almost physically difficult. Venus in Taurus is the fast approach followed by the slowest settling on the wheel, and once it has settled it is close to immovable. A sign built to begin is at its best while something still needs beginning.

So the risk with an Aries is not that he stops loving you. It is that once everything is settled and nothing needs deciding, he can go quietly flat and not register it for months, because the part of a relationship he is genuinely built for happened in the first six weeks.

The thing to do with that is not to invent a chase. Withholding on purpose produces a man who thinks you have gone off him, and there is nobody on this site who will hand you a script for that. What holds this sign is having something real and live to move on together. Not a test. A plan.

Where the sun sign stops
